Sierra Nevada Camping Trip Part Four: “Good-bye God, I’m going to Bodie.”

Bodie, CA is known as being the largest ghost town in the west. Out of 2,000 buildings (65 being saloons), about 10% of those are still standing. The town is currently in a state of arrested decay which means it looks exactly as it was left. Because of the towns violent and hedonistic nature it was once said “Good-bye God, I’m going to Bodie.”

It was pretty awesome to be able to ride in this ghost town as it is a State Historic Park. We were on lookout for park rangers but ended up being able to ride for a few hours undisturbed.
